This season we will be doing our annual Hit-A-Thon fundraiser.  We are raising money for new equipment.  Last year, our league was able to purchase scoreboards for Desoto and Ballard fields with the money raised from the Hit-A-Thon. 

Each player will get their own sponsor webpage from  99Pledges to send out to family and friends, and like a jog-a-thon, people can pledge money per hit or a flat donation. If you do not receive this email from 99pledges, please check your spam folder first then let me know. Each player will get 10 good pitches (T-ball players get 10 swings off the tee).  Teams will perform the Hit-A-Thon as part of one of their practices the week of February 13th. Foul balls do not count as a “hit” but count towards the 10 pitches. 

Players will be able to reach individual prizes as well as team prizes for hits, money raised, and participation. The top hitter with the highest donations gets to throw the first pitch at Opening Day!

Here is a quick overview how this fundraiser works:

1. Launch your site. Once we submit all our teams on the website, you will receive an email from 99Pledges with your child’s link to their customizable webpage.
2. Share by email, text, or Facebook
3. Hit-a-thons will be done at practice of the coach’s choosing between 2/13 - 2/20
4. Coaches Report hitting numbers per player, and we will update the website

Individual Prizes

Donations over:

• $25 – receive a free Opening Day activity bracelet
• $50 – $5 Concession Stand Gift card & Opening Day activity bracelet
• Top Individual in donations will win a $100 gift card to Dicks Sporting Goods

Hits:
Players with the highest number of hits per division* (with donations) will get invited to participate in the Opening Day Hit-a-Thon Showcase, where they can also earn prizes based on distance hit. 

*divisions with 2 or less teams will be combined with the next division

Top hitter with highest donations:
Gets to throw first pitch at Opening Day

Team Prizes

Donations:

• Top team in donations in each division* wins a pizza party after a practice (divisions with 2 or less teams will be combined with the next division). 
• Top team in overall donations wins team ice cream after a home game.

Participation:
All teams with 75% participation get to pie their coaches after a home game.
